Hi! I’m Lulu, and I’m 26 years old. I live in Central Florida, and have a love for… well, EVERYTHING. I can’t give you my full list of passions, dreams, ambitions, and things I enjoy or hobbies I try because there’s just TOO many. That’s what this blog will become! A dream journal, a creation station, a map to my shop’s journey!
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves though… FIRST, I want to share a little bit about me, and where “Lulu” came from. My real name is actually Elizabeth, but ever since I was a little girl my Dad always called me “Lizzie Lu” and later on Lulu became what stuck, as close friends and family members picked it up! When I was in High School I was smitten with the idea that one day I’d be a famous author living in New York and struggling to make it, probably working as a freelance writer for some underground indie magazine or newspaper. As I grew up that dream changed, but I still wanted to “create”, to make things, to be a part of giving something a new look or new life. I think that who we are is a journey that begins when we do and grows as we do, sometimes looking at the start helps us to understand where we are now…
Okay, that might be TOO far back… Let’s jump ahead a little bit…. I think that my love and appreciation for creating and art stems from my childhood. My Dad became a carpenter later in life and watching him build things, or remodel things, really made me connect with him in a way I couldn’t before. When I was small, my Mom and I were always doing craft projects together, and of course Art was always my favorite part of the day in school. I’ve always loved seeing something change, or come together – I’ve gone through phases of “What I want to do when I grow up”… I wanted to be a writer, an interior designer, a children’s book author, a furniture designer, a make up artist, a hair stylist…notice a growing theme? I wanted to make pretty things, or give things a new look. As I’ve gotten a little older, most things have changed. I finally grew into my big personality, I started being vocal about what actually matters to me instead of just being vocal to be vocal, and I’ve become a more balanced and at peace person…the one thing that hasn’t changed is my love and desire to CREATE!
This blog, my Etsy Shop, my social media pages – these are all links to what I love, what I do, and who I am! I hope that I make a lot of new friends on this new adventure that I’m on and that I learn more about their adventures as well! So say hi, leave me a comment, follow along!
